Agent Skill

AI contract review skill

A packaged set of instructions that teaches AI agents when and how to use ContractPanda — so you never have to explain it again.

How to install the ContractPanda AI contract review skill

The ContractPanda skill gives supported AI assistants a reusable process for reviewing contracts with ContractPanda. It tells your agent when to request an analysis, how to explain the results, and which legal and safety boundaries to follow.

Complete the three steps below to connect the MCP server, download the skill package, and add it to your AI application.

1

Connect the MCP server

The MCP server gives your AI agent live access to ContractPanda's analysis tools. It runs remotely — no local installation required.

2

Download the ContractPanda skill

The skill is a bundle of Markdown files that tells your agent when to trigger ContractPanda, how to present analysis results, and what guardrails to follow. The ZIP contains SKILL.md plus a references/ folder with worked examples and clause-type definitions.

3

Upload the skill to your AI app

Both Claude and ChatGPT support the Agent Skills open standard, so the same ZIP works in both. Pick your platform:

Claude

Works in both Claude.ai and Claude Desktop.

1.
Open Customize → Skills. In Claude.ai, find it in the left sidebar. In Claude Desktop, open the app and click Customize in the sidebar.
2.
Click the "+" button, then Create skill → Upload a skill.
3.
Upload contractpanda-skill.zip.
4.
The ContractPanda skill will appear in your skills list. Toggle it on to activate it.

Custom skills are private to your account. On Team or Enterprise plans you can share them with your organization.

ChatGPT

1.
Select your profile icon in ChatGPT, then select Skills.
2.
Select New skill Upload from your computer.
3.
Upload contractpanda-skill.zip. ChatGPT will scan it before making it available.
4.
Once the scan completes, the ContractPanda skill will appear in your installed skills list and activate automatically when relevant.

Skills are available in ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, Edu, Teachers, and Healthcare plans.

Use the skill with Claude or ChatGPT

The downloadable package follows the Agent Skills open standard. You can upload the same ContractPanda skill package to supported versions of Claude and ChatGPT without rewriting its instructions.

Built-in guardrails for contract analysis

The skill keeps the analysis educational. It instructs the AI agent to explain contract language without assigning risk scores, making signing decisions, or presenting its output as legal advice.

  • Never tell the user "do not sign" or assess the contract as risky
  • Never label clauses as "red flags" or assign a numerical risk score
  • Never recommend specific edits as if acting as a lawyer
  • Never claim to substitute for qualified legal review
  • Always close with the educational disclaimer
